“The secret of success is consistency of purpose.” — Benjamin Disraeli

2016 is going to be an “old school” year in our global transportation and logistics universe. My organization’s purpose is to flow our Windows-enabled devices to the right customer, at the right time, and at the right price … every time. Consistently.

To achieve this, we also need the fulfillment industry, our partners, and deployed technologies to facilitate and promulgate an “empathic supply chain” that evolves to our needs, and our client’s needs, across all modes of international transportation.

Consequently, to effectively deliver product and services to any market, we have to trust that our partners will always meet transit times and delivery dates. This will enable scale and create divining opportunities for complexity.

Successful organizations will have mutually vested, consistent customer care, product quality and trade compliance that will drive all industry participants to achieve world-class reliability.

Aligned partners will deploy locative logistics platforms, with real-time dependability, to aggressively manage costs that will facilitate collective profits inside every link of the supply chain.

In essence, true “ambient consistency” within the supply chain, which we assume is always there, has simply not been achieved yet. For most, this goal still remains on the horizon.

To achieve this, all of our industry peers need to be great partners by being honest, open and transparent. However, we don’t need to shy away from dynamic friction or constructive conflict within that attuned relationship.

To be consistent, even though it may be counterintuitive, the industry has to embrace change, and maintain peak awareness. Established plans are often useless, but scenario planning is priceless.
