2012 Opening and Closing Session Speakers Named by NITL, IANA
ARLINGTON, VA. – CALVERTON, MD., Aug. 14, 2012 –The National Industrial Transportation League and the Intermodal Association of North America will hold the most highly-anticipated freight transportation events in North America Nov. 11-13, 2012 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. Over 2,000 senior freight transportation and logistics executives along with nearly 200 exhibitors are expected to attend the NITL’s TransComp Exhibition and Annual Membership Meeting, and IANA’s Intermodal Expo.
This year’s opening general session – Servicing a Consumer Driven Supply Chain – will focus on how shifting consumer purchasing patterns have dramatically re-shaped the global supply chain and how these changes will impact shipper and carrier relationships in the future. This year’s closing general session will be a first in the history of the joint event, when NASCAR driver Danica Patrick will deliver closing remarks entitled Pushing Yourself to the Limits directly from the tradeshow floor. Danica is considered by many to be the most successful woman in the history of American open-wheel racing, and is the only woman ever to win an IndyCar Series race. She also holds the highest finish ever by a woman at the Indianapolis 500 – third place. In 2011, Danica made history with the best finish ever by a woman in NASCAR – and moved full-time to NASCAR for the 2012 racing season.
