Advance International is quality reaccredited for another three years
Istanbul-based freight forwarder Advance International Transport (AIT) has been successfully re-certificated to global quality standard ISO 9001:2008, following an audit by Bureau Veritas which is valid until 2013.
The Bureau Veritas re-certification relates to the management, handling, logistics and shipping of project cargo worldwide by Advance International.
Jawad Kamel, president and CEO of Advance International Transport, is absolutely clear about the importance this has for his company’s customers.
He says: “We were originally approved for this standard in February 1996, the first international transport and trading company approved globally for project cargoes by Bureau Veritas.
“Our worldwide clientele have always known Advance International Transport as a first-class and safe handler of project cargoes, with staff that work tirelessly to maintain the standards we achieved in 1996. Our customers can be certain that our high standards have been confirmed, again, by independent inspectors.”
Part of the ISO 9001:2008 re-certification concerns standards surrounding Health and Safety practices in heavy lift and project cargo operations, requiring AIT to prevent the use of unsuitable handling and loading equipment and keeping strict records to use as a tool to improve the Health and Safety system.
