Agility Continues Logistics Buildup for Shanghai Expo 2010

Shanghai, 8th November, 2009 - With less than 200 days to go to the launch of the Shanghai Expo 2010, Agility Fairs and Events is continuing its preparation for the upcoming event. It has recently been awarded the international freight for a number of country pavilions and has been appointed as the sole provider of Cold Chain Logistics for the entire Expo site throughout the duration of Expo 2010.

Agility is pleased to announce that it will be handling the logistics for the Australia, New Zealand, Pacific countries, and Finland Pavilions, amongst others, and work is already underway on transporting the supplies and equipment that are required to construct, prepare, and present these pavilions.

With millions of visitors due at the six month long event, which will run through the height of the summer, Agility will play a critical role in keeping visitors cool through its handling of the onsite distribution for temperature controlled daily supplies. Agility will have close to 10,000 square meters of temperature controlled storage space in and around the Expo site ensuring that all materials, products and produce will be kept in optimum condition during the six month event at its temperature controlled facilities. Around 100 temperature controlled trucks will also be in use by Agility to handle the on-site distribution and to ensure that there are enough supplies available for the event.

“We are delighted to be providing the onsite distribution for temperature controlled daily supplies at the Shanghai Expo 2010, as it shows the close co-operation and trust that has developed between Agility and the organizers. In addition, we are very happy to be working with a large number of country pavilions and assisting them with all their logistics requirements for this event,” said Nat Wong, President, Agility Fairs and Events.

A 25,000 square meter onsite warehouse will soon be opened by the Expo Organizing Committee to meet all storage requirements. This facility includes a temperature controlled area that Agility will use during the Expo and is a fully bonded warehouse that will be used for Customs Clearance. Agility has obtained full qualification for Customs and CIQ declaration and is able to perform its own declarations.

Agility F&E is an Official Logistics Service Provider at Expo 2010 and is one of only three providers that can provide on-site services at the Expo. It is the only official international logistics service provider at the Expo with its own global network, providing national exhibitors with door-to-door services from Europe, US, Asia, and the Middle East to and from Shanghai.

Shanghai World Expo 2010 will attract millions of visitors to the six month event, which runs from May-October next year.
