Announcing Supply Chain Canada, 2010 Three Leading Organizations in Canada Form Partnership to Connect and Educate Canada’s Top Supply Chain Professionals

Toronto, Ontario, November 22, 2010 - We are pleased to announce that three leading organizations have formed a partnership to better serve the needs of supply chain managers (SCM), shippers, government, suppliers and academics in the supply chain sector in Canada. Supply Chain & Logistics Association Canada (SCL) and Canadian Industrial Transportation Association (CITA) will combine their annual conference and trade show for a third year, welcoming a new partnership with Newcom Shows to create a dynamic two day industry event. The 2011 event, called Supply Chain Canada, will be held May 10-11th at the International Centre, Toronto, Canada.

SCL has been holding its annual conference for 43 years and CITA has been holding its Transpo annual conference and trade show for over 20 years. In 2009, CITA and SCL combined the two events. In 2010, Newcom Shows also partnered with CITA to manage the trade show portion of the conference.

“Supply Chain Canada” will continue the SCL annual conference tradition with their 44th event and the CITA Transpo trade show. Newcom Shows will take the lead as executive producer of “Supply Chain Canada” with Plum Communications Inc. managing the day-to-day operations.

Canada is a major contributor to the global economy and actively engaged in trade agreements with many countries. There are three quarters of a million+ supply chain industry workers in Canada and the federal and provincial governments have embarked on major infrastructure programs through their Gateways and Trade Corridors strategy to help companies be more competitive. Supply Chain Canada will fill the need for a trade event committed to providing leading edge research, education, and dialogue where senior industry professionals can learn and network with their peers.

“While this is the 44th Annual Conference for SCL, we are pleased to have CITA as our partner for the third year in a row. We look forward to a hugely successful conference and trade show we are now calling “Supply Chain Canada”. Bob Armstrong, President, SCL

“CITA is looking forward to our third annual conference and trade show partnering with Supply Chain & Logistics Association Canada. We expect the 2011 event will build on the success of the past two years and moving the event to the International Centre near Pearson International Airport opens up new possibilities for both the conference and the trade show” Bob Ballantyne, President, CITA

“Newcom is excited to come on board for a second year and help build Supply Chain Canada into a premier national event. If you are involved in the supply chain you won’t want to miss it.”

Joe Glionna, General Manager, Newcom Shows
