BDP South East Asia Receives ISO Accreditation for Safety and Quality
SINGAPORE, May 22, 2009 — BDP International (BDP) today announced that its South East Asia Division had been awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification for both 18001:2007(Occupational Health and Safety) and 9001:2008 (Quality). Regional Director of BDP South East Asia, Mr Peter Barnesby said the certification demonstrates the company’s commitment to its customers and its employees.
The ISO 18001:2007 is recognized as the global benchmark for health and safety management. It promotes a safe and healthy working environment, reduces the potential for accidents, and encourages greater employee awareness of safety issues.
“As a family-owned business, the way we treat and respect our employees carries high importance; it is a core value. Workplace safety has always been a priority for BDP. That is why we sought and received the ISO certification for Safety,” Mr Barnesby said.
The ISO 9001:2008 (Quality) focuses on achieving consistency and improved performance across all BDP’s internal processes.
“In an increasingly competitive business environment, customers are demanding higher and higher standards of performance. By obtaining the ISO certification for quality, BDP South East Asia has demonstrated both discipline in the execution of business process and the capacity to deliver a consistently high quality of service to our clients.”
“The ISO 9001:2008 (Quality) certification helps improve productivity and efficiency leading to significant cost reductions, while serving to enhance employee communications, job satisfaction and morale.”
