“Over my 30 years in transportation I have witnessed many folks struggling with trying to find their true purpose. Once the acceptance sets in that the purpose of human life is to serve, wonderful things will begin to happen, as they have for me and my amazing team at Brenny Transportation. We truly believe in people before profits, we really do get back 10 fold what we give, Brenny is proof! It is an honor to serve our community as well as an honor to serve the transportation industry,” said Joyce Brenny, President of Brenny Transportation.

“The Selection Committee was overwhelmed by the number of families and charities that have benefited from Brenny’s generosity”, said Robert Voltmann, TIA’s President and CEO. He went on to add that Brenny’s dedication to its community is evident not only by the amounts contributed, but by the company’s gift of time and talents. After reading all the Brenny team accomplished, I couldn’t agree more that “acts of charitable activity is a way of life at Brenny.”

“The selection committee of TIA members received 22 nominations for the 2010 award. The committee’s task of selecting a single recipient was very difficult. The generous and giving spirit of the third party logistics industry in general, and TIA members in particular, is amazing,” Voltmann added.

The TIA 3PL Samaritan Award will be presented at the uDrove Humanitarian Bowl on December 18 in Boise, Idaho as part of the bowl’s overall recognition of the transportation industry’s humanitarian efforts, which also includes the Truckload Carrier Association’s presentation of their Highway Angel Award. As an added bonus, TIA will launch a TIA Foundation Charity Fun Run at the 2011 TIA Convention, and Brenny Transportation will be able to designate a charity as the recipient of funds raised by the fun run.

The recognized service or assistance can take any form from volunteering logistical support to providing manpower, resources, or financial support to others in need, sponsoring sporting events, providing scholarships, hiring disabled people or other types of community service. The purpose of the award is to recognize the good works in which the 3PL industry is engaged by highlighting a specific 3PL Samaritan effort each year.
