The Houston-based Project Division of UTC Overseas, Inc. today announced the appointment of Brent Patterson as a Project Director with the firm. In that capacity he will oversee project development of industrial and global capital projects and services to Engineering and Procurement companies.

Patterson attended Chapman University before joining the U.S. Navy as a logistician, with a focus on aviation logistics. After departing the service, he formed his own company, Patterson Transportation, which specialized in North American heavy haul and heavy lift services. Prior to joining UTC Overseas, Inc. he served in a senior position at a large freight forwarding company.

“I had worked with UTC senior managers while serving on some trade associations,” Patterson said. “UTC has clearly been growing, and has a strong reputation within the industry. As a consequence, I developed a greater appreciation for their strengths and capabilities, their global presence and the breadth of their skills and resources.”

“We are pleased to have Brent join the UTC Overseas Project team,” said Division Vice President Marco Poisler. “His previous experience and knowledge provides our customers with a very valuable skill set. He has a strong engineering background and extensive experience in heavy haul trucking, rigging and lift operations. He knows how to select the right resources to effectively manage project logistics from start to finish.”

UTC operates offices throughout North America and in South America, Europe (including Eastern Europe and the Balkans), Asia and Australia. It opened its own office in Shanghai in 2006, Denmark in 2007, Canada in 2008 and Eastern Europe and Australia in 2009.
