Cargotec has secured an order from one of Brazil's leading logistics operations to deliver 13 Kalmar forklift trucks. Purchased by Vix Logistica S.A, the nine DCF300 and four DCF420 models are scheduled for delivery in September. They will be employed on a range of materials handling roles across the nationwide Vix Logistica network. The order follows a further three Kalmar DCF450-12 lift trucks delivered in January of this year. These units are fitted with magnetics attachments and have been successfully used to handle 36-tonne steel slabs.

Cargotec Brazil already holds a service agreement with Vix Logistica which sees two of its technicians working full time at the company - responsible for the complete maintenance of the three existing Kalmar DCF450-12 models. Following the latest machine purchase it is expected that further technicians will be added to the agreement.

Thomas Malmborg, Vice President, Forklift Trucks at Cargotec says: Brazil is one of the fastest growing forklift truck markets in the world and constitutes a key focus for Cargotec's business development plans. We are delighted to secure this deal - one of our largest ever to Brazil - with such a major player in its logistics sector. We have been selected for several factors including a trust in the quality of the Kalmar technology and all of the reassurance and support that comes with the Cargotec brand. We are also able to deliver a responsive local service as proven throughout the existing relationship.

With lifting capacities ranging from 18 to 52 tonnes, Kalmar F generation heavy-duty lift trucks utilise the latest technology to deliver a highly productive and cost-efficient solution to a broad spectrum of heavy handling applications.

The Kalmar F generation range meets or exceeds all of the stringent regulations and business standards on exhaust emissions, lubrication waste, coatings, driver environment and noise levels. Dependent on the required application, customers can select the optimum combination of lifting capacity, stability and driving performance. The design of machines also results in operational characteristics including fast and precise control, reliable breaks, smooth transmission, tight turning radius, powerful engine and responsive hydraulics.
