CaroTrans Launches Innovative Door to Port Rate Application

CLARK, N.J. — CaroTrans, a leading global NVOCC (non vessel operating common carrier) and ocean freight consolidator, today announces an innovative Door to Port rate application which calculates a combined transportation cost for LTL (less than truckload) and LCL (less than container load) shipments for specific origin-destination routes. Users receive a variety of route/sailing options allowing them to evaluate and select transportation services based on transit time/destination ETA (estimated time of arrival) and cost. Comprehensive costs are computed based on origin and destination locations, cargo pick-up date, number of pieces, weight, and freight volume. Calculating the cost of special cargo, such as hazardous, is also available.

CaroTrans’ customers easily access Door to Port Rates on the CaroTrans North America homepage to quickly and efficiently obtain total costs for U.S. inland and global ocean transportation services based on contract rates.

The Door to Port Rate application is CaroTrans’ latest addition to their suite of e-commerce tools which include: bookings, sailing schedules, LCL/FCL rates, tracking and inland rates. With these easy-to-access e-commerce tools and gadgets, CaroTrans’ customers have a more efficient, streamlined way to process ocean freight transactions and retrieve shipment data.

“We created the Door to Port Rate application and the entire suite of e-tools to help our customers boost productivity and operational performance. E-commerce tools add value and capabilities that increase time and cost savings for our clients and help them better serve their customers,” said Greg Howard, CaroTrans, Global CEO.
