CEVA in Spain is awarded the ICIL Award for Excellence in Logistics
Madrid, Spain, 14 June, 2010 - CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has received the prestigious ICIL Award for Excellence in Logistics at the Spanish Logistics Association's annual dinner. This accolade is one of the greatest recognitions for innovative companies that develop outstanding logistics solutions or processes and is awarded by the ICIL Foundation, the Spanish leader in research, training, spreading knowledge and logistic applications.
Participants in the sixth event were required to show concrete and measurable examples of improvement in their respective supply chains, and describe in detail the projects that were submitted.
CEVA proposed its LEAN Program, one of the pillars of CEVA's Operations Excellence. The LEAN Program continuously improves operations through the systematic identification and elimination of waste and reduces the need to compromise on cost reduction, quality improvement and wait-time reduction. CEVA presented practical examples of warehouse processes optimizations and cost reductions, thanks to the implementation of the program.
Continuous improvement is a key component of the Kaizen culture, which CEVA adopts and this is the key area in which CEVA has been recognized with the ICIL Award. Kaizen is based on a strenuous search of progressive and small improvements, on specific processes that help deliver higher customer satisfaction, reduce waste and increase employee empowerment.
Giuseppe Chiellino, CEVA's Managing Director in Iberia said: It is CEVA's honour to receive this ICIL Award for Excellence in Logistics; this is a public acknowledgement of our LEAN Program as an essential vehicle towards Operations Excellence. Implementing this within our operations has allowed CEVA to deliver even better service towards customers, achieve better performance and in short, it has now become the DNA of how we operate and continually look to improve efficiency.
