Milan, Italy, 22 November 2011 – CEVA Logistics, one of the world’s leading supply chain companies, has been presented with the Best Practice Award for Recruitment and Selection in recognition of the success of its ’From Employer Branding to People Management’ project. The award, presented on 20 October 2011, recognizes CEVA’s commitment to the professional development of new entrants into its business.

The award was presented by the HR Community (HRC), the first Italian HR Business Community, and is given annually to organizations that demonstrate best practices in recruitment, selection and training activities, contribute to improve work processes and people’s work activities, as well as enhancing the Community’s collective knowledge.

CEVA has demonstrated its commitment in supporting its employees’ growth by designing a specific development process for all young people who want to pursue a career in the logistics sector, working closely with schools and universities which often lack specific logistics skills to share with their students. Thanks to the project, named ’From Employer Branding to People Management’ implemented by CEVA’s Italian HR department, CEVA provides new trainees with a comprehensive learning process which, through the delivery of specialized training programs, guarantees the development of the technical skills necessary to improve their career prospects within the company over time.

Franco Di Dio Magrì, General Director of HR Community, said: “HRC Academy is the first Italian Business Community dedicated to CEOs, HR Directors and HR Managers. The Best Practice Award for Recruitment and Selection is just one element of the activities we carry out to develop knowledge, encourage informal learning, creativity, innovation and much more.”

Gian Paolo Naef, HR Director of CEVA in Southern Europe, Middle East and Africa said: “We are very proud to have been awarded this prize by the HR Community, which recognizes the quality and effectiveness of our project dedicated to the training and development of new CEVA junior employees. Our goal is to create a pool of trainees able to pursue new challenges and grow professionally, also triggering a virtuous cycle that will allow senior employees to evolve into positions of greater responsibility. CEVA has always significantly invested in the training of its people and low turnover levels, along with high retention rates, show that entrants to our business are able to reach high level roles thanks to an effective internal growth path. This recognition is further evidence of the importance and high value we place on our people, who represent the core of the company and are a crucial element in achieving our business goals.”

This project forms part of a wider program on Organizational Capability, which is focused on enhancing people development within CEVA.
