CEVA wins additional business with Chrysler Group LLC brands in Northern Europe
London, UK, 26 October, 2011 - CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, has extended its relationship with Fiat Group with the signing of new contracts which will include the supply chain management for all Chrysler Group LLC brands (Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge).
Under the terms of the contracts, CEVA will manage the warehousing and distribution of spare parts for dealers that distribute Chrysler Group LLC brands, with operations located in Vatry, France and Bielsko-Biala, Poland.
The operations will manage complex warehousing and through-the-night deliveries to over 740 dealers across Europe. In Bielsko-Biala, southern Poland, the current warehouse was expanded by 5,000 sq m to accommodate the additional volumes arriving from Italy, while in France 6,000 sq m were fitted out in Vatry distribution center to respond to the customer’s needs. From the Bielsko-Biała and Vatry distribution centers, CEVA will handle the distribution of spare parts and accessories in Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, France, Belgium and the Netherlands as well as reverse logistics activities and waste management.
“This win is the result of delivering improved customer service and satisfaction to Fiat Group, who we have worked with for 14 years in Eastern Europe. We have a wealth of experience in the Automotive sector and Chrysler Group can focus on their core business while CEVA manages the logistics, impeccably executing the outsourced services,” says Piotr Zborowski, CEVA’s Senior Vice President, Eastern Europe.
“We have recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of the opening of Vatry distribution center and this new operation with Chrysler’s brands in France is a great reward. We are proud that a prestigious company like Fiat Group fully entrust us and consider CEVA not only a supplier but a real partner,” says Pierre Girardin, CEVA’s Executive Vice President, France and Benelux.
Fiat Group is one of CEVA’s Century customers. The Century Program was introduced in 2008 and is the key account program for around 100 global customers who present major opportunities across geographies and sectors.
The collaboration between CEVA and Fiat Group dates back to 1995, the year in which the car manufacturer outsourced the management of its spare parts warehousing activities and orders dispatch to its dealer network. This enabled the Company to focus on its core activities of car manufacturing. With this contract, CEVA further expands its collaboration with Chrysler, for which it already works in the rest of European countries.
Chrysler Group LLC is one of the most important producers in the automotive sector and mid-2009 announced its global strategic alliance with Fiat Group, giving birth to the ‘new’ Chrysler Group LLC.
