Madrid, Spain, 27 April 2010 – CEVA Logistics, a leading global supply chain management company, today announced the graduation of the first group of students from the Management Development Program, conducted by the Business School ESADE, one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world.

ESADE is recognized for its top-quality education, its international reach and its focus on the development of professional skills in its students and has designed the course specifically for CEVA.ESADE is also one of the few schools accredited by the three main international educational bodies, known as the ’triple crown’ institutions: AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), AMBA (Association of MBAs) and EQUIS (European Quality Improvement System). This recognition has been achieved by only 30 business schools in the entire world, and demonstrates the high academic standards of the school.

The Management Development Program, an important investment for CEVA, lasted 18 months and involved a group of 30 employees from IT, HR, operations and business development – all with different experience levels and training needs.

Angelo Ferranti, Human Resources Director for CEVA in Iberia said: “The objective of the program was to provide our highly motivated employees with the opportunity to further develop themselves, their leadership skills and also their understanding of CEVA’s global strategy so they can play a significant role in helping to achieve it. CEVA’s strategy was an integral part of the program, allowing the group to take business theory and implement it in their daily work.”

Óscar Martínez, Senior Business Development Manager and the students’ representative said: “CEVA and ESADE jointly created this inter-company training and developed a course where the main goal was to train a multifunctional team with a very clear remit - to support our goal of becoming the most admired supply chain company, as an operator and an employer. The students are sure they have not only learned theory and specific techniques, but also acquired a structured and process driven way of thinking, helping them to effectively manage the daily situations they face.”

The program covered nine key areas designed to give the participants an overview of all the elements involved with running a successful business: competitive strategy; teamwork; change management; marketing; operations; information systems; finance; leading capacities and global economic trends were all covered on the course. The program was simultaneously taught in Madrid and Barcelona and used a variety of different teaching methods to ensure the right balance between the students learning the theory and then applying that knowledge within their work environment.

Due to the success of this first student intake, CEVA in Spain will continue its training and career development program so as to train the next group of the company’s professionals. Giuseppe Chiellino, General Manager for CEVA in Iberia added: “We plan to keep investing in training our employees. If we want to become the most admired company in our sector and achieve double-digit growth in 2010, we need our professionals to get trained at the best business schools. The participants from this development program will undoubtedly play a key role in our organization’s growth and excellence.”
