CII Seeks 2011 Connie Award Nominations
HOLMDEL, NJ (October 14, 2010) - The Containerization & Intermodal Institute (CII) is seeking nominations for the 2011 prestigious annual Connie Awards. Named for the container, the Connie Award has been presented every year since 1972 to those who have made outstanding contributions to the containerization and intermodal industry, including those involved with rail, shipping, ports, importers and exporters, 3PLs, technology, government officials and the media.
CII has just marked the 50th anniversary of our association, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting the business of international trade and the intermodal container transportation community, said Allen Clifford, CII President. The prestigious Connie Award draws attendees from across the nation. We're seeking nominations nationwide for all facets involved in trade, Mr. Clifford continued.
Events in 2011 will take place in early April in Chicago; in September in Long Beach and in December in Newark, NJ. All nominations for Chicago must be received by December 23, 2010. In addition to the awards, CII presents scholarships to deserving students studying logistics or transportation.
