Coca-Cola outsources warehousing of finished goods to DB Schenker Logistics in Poland

(Berlin/Essen, January 18, 2012) The Coca-Cola Company has awarded DB Schenker Logistics two businesses for their warehousing and transportation operations in Poland.

The world leading soft drinks producer from Atlanta, Georgia, USA, will integrate previously own operated satellite Distribution Centers for Coca-Cola's finished goods into existing DB Schenker warehouses. The main argument for the Coca-Cola Company to award a part of their supply chain to DB Schenker Logistics was the service provider's experience in the distribution logistics of beverage.

“This DB Schenker Consumer Fulfillment solution will permit both parties to share synergies based on DB Schenker’s established and proven network with the existing customers,” said Dariusz Doroś, Head of Contract Logistics, Schenker Sp. z o.o. “These synergies are related to the shared usage of assets, regarding equipment and employees as well as warehousing and transportation. Furthermore, we will be in a position to increase the service level for our customers and to reduce their carbon footprint.”
