Crowley and its Digital Design Firm Roundarch Receive Award of Merit from the TMSA for Web-Based Marketing Following the Redesign of the Crowley Family of Websites

(Jacksonville, Fla., June 17, 2011) ¬- The Transportation Marketing and Sales Association (TMSA) last week presented Crowley Maritime Corporation and its digital design partner, Roundarch, with an award of merit for the company's newly redesigned websites.

Mark Miller, Crowley's director of corporate communications, accepted the web-based marketing award on behalf of the company and Roundarch at TMSA's 59th Annual Compass Awards Dinner, which recognized the best in marketing, sales and communications within the transportation, logistics and passenger transit industries for 2010.

Crowley last year partnered with Roundarch, a leader in digital design and implementation, to develop a new web presence for the corporation and its subsidiaries that organized content around a highly intuitive, solutions-based navigation. The new websites include www.crowley.com, www.titansalvage.com, www.jensenmaritime.com and www.customizedbrokers.net.

We now have sites that are more responsive to the needs of our customers, and with the increased strategic use of imagery to back up our case studies, we feel like we're presenting our capabilities and our brands in a far more compelling way, said Miller. We thank the TMSA for this distinguished award and see it as further confirmation of the success of the project.

In addition to the solutions-based architecture, the new sites offer paths to critical information such as location-based organization along with search and service finder functionalities. To account for the continuing evolution in the way people use their computing devices, the Crowley websites were built with a new fluid framework that reflows and optimizes the content to the screen upon which it is being rendered. Thus Crowley has accounted for the increased demand of users consuming content on mobile and tablet devices. The sites also leverage the latest search engine optimization technology, making it easier for business customers to not find Crowley.com, but find specific information at secondary and tertiary levels of the site.

TMSA's Compass Award entries were judged by industry professionals in the following categories: integrated communications program, single advertisement, advertising campaign, direct marketing campaign, communications collateral, publications, innovative publishing, Web-based marketing, multimedia marketing and special events. Winners were selected based on the detailed write-up of their marketing campaign and the actual creative work samples.

This year's winners truly turned up the heat, showcasing the utmost creativity and uniqueness, said Dick Metzler, TMSA president. It's great to see industry professionals come together to develop campaigns that will ultimately grow their businesses and the transportation, logistics and passenger transit industries.
