CSCMP to Host Pre-Conference Supply Chain Education Workshops at Annual Global Conference

The 'New' Fundamentals: What Matters Now in Supply Chain and Strategic Supply Chain Issues—Where Tactical Functionality Meets the Big Picture will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm PDT at the San Diego Convention Center.
CSCMP’s Annual Global Conference <http://www.mmsend2.com/ls.cfm?r=20671114&sid=9652851&m=1020976&u=CSCMP&…; will take place September 26-29 in San Diego, California USA.
The New Fundamentals workshop will cover supply chain management (SCM) principles that are critical to business operations in today’s organizations. Key issues to be addressed will include supply chain security, “green” developments, diversity opportunities, leveraging SCM to support the bottom line, and the latest trends in health, safety, and ergonomics, and how they affect supply chain managers’ responsibilities.
Industry veterans Art van Bodegraven, logistics and SCM practice leader for S4 Consulting, and Kenneth B. Ackerman, president of K.B. Ackerman Company, will present the workshop.
The Strategic Supply Chain Issues pre-conference workshop was designed for professionals who have mastered the fundamentals of SCM. Topics will include discussions on SCM strategies and metrics, challenges with SCM collaboration, Lean principles, and trends in green supply chains, globalization, resilience, and sustainability.
Case studies and interactive exercises will demonstrate how developing and maintaining well-balanced supply chains can positively impact overall business operations. The event will be presented by Thomas L. Freese, principal of Freese Associates, Inc.
Workshop participants are not required to register for CSCMP’s Annual Global Conference to attend the pre-conference events. The cost to attend a workshop is $399.00 US for CSCMP members; $499.00 US for nonmembers.
