CyberLogitec implements Document Automation System for Hanjin Shipping

Seoul, South Korea – July 11, 2012 – CyberLogitec, a maritime logistics IT company, announced that Hanjin Shipping has built an automatic input system to handle their hundreds of thousands of shipping instructions annually with Cyberlogitec’s D-CUBE, a document automation solution.

By completing this project, D-CUBE allows Hanjin Shipping automatic data input from shipping instructions in the form of fax and e-mail once manually handled by humans. As a result, Hanjin Shipping has experienced the increase in their business productivity and customer satisfaction. In fact, document processing time has been reduced by over 50% after the introduction of D-CUBE.

“There are over hundreds of various forms and different keywords used in each shipping instruction, which makes it difficult to automate its processing,” said Eun-Jo Chung, IT Director of Hanjin Shipping. “With their business experience and technical skills accumulated over years of developing solutions for the shipping industry, Cyberlogitec was able to develop the industry’s first document automation system over a short period without the hassle.”

It is usual for shipping instructions to be delivered through website or EDI system of a shipping company or a broker; however, about one-third of global shipping instructions are still delivered via fax or email. These shipping instructions are manually verified and handled by dedicated staffs, and inconvenience of this process is a common concern not only for Hanjin Shipping, but also for most of shipping companies and complex transportation companies.

Ki-Bong Lee, Service Support Manager of Hanjin Shipping, emphasizes, “D-CUBE processes shipping instructions quickly, and is developed to allow one to direct work to overseas documentation center without printing or scanning orders in email or fax. It was also essential to safely store original documents received through email in a data center. Cyberlogitec’s D-CUBE was the one that fulfills both requirements.”

D-CUBE consists of an innovative shape recognition algorithm combined with OCR engine and PDF conversion software, and features analysis and process of all types of documents such as Microsoft Office documents, PDF, text, and image files.
