DropShip Commerce Names Scott Lemon Vice President of Technology
SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--DropShip Commerce, a leading provider of distributed supply chain management solutions, today announced the appointment of Scott Lemon as vice president of technology. In this capacity, Lemon will oversee DropShip Commerce’s Software as a Service-based (SaaS), on-demand platform to help retailers and manufacturers use the virtual supply chain to be more responsive to consumer demand in the age of e-commerce.
“We could not have found someone more capable and well suited to lead our technology efforts than Scott,” said Jeremy Hanks, founder and CEO of DropShip Commerce. “Over his career, he has demonstrated a proven ability to apply his extensive tech expertise across any industry and create innovative solutions. With Scott on board, we have an all-star management team that is perfectly positioned to help disrupt traditional supply chain methods and deliver significant growth for the company.”
For the last 13 years, Lemon has provided Internet technology consulting and chief technology officer (CTO) services to corporations and startups. With an impressive client list that included HP, Adobe and Overstock.com, Lemon created a wide range of business process automation platforms utilizing open source, cloud and mobile technologies. Previously, Lemon worked at Novell’s corporate office for more than a decade in product management, systems architecture and research and development in a wide range of networking and identity management areas.
“After spending more than a dozen years venturing out on my own, DropShip presented an opportunity that was too compelling to pass up,” said Lemon. “By changing how retailers and suppliers work together, DropShip is transforming how B2B supply chains operate, and I look forward to leveraging my professional background to bolster the company’s technology base.”
The use of third-party distributed inventory has gained widespread recognition via the Amazon.com Marketplace; through its cloud-native enterprise platform, DropShip Commerce brings similar functionality to mid-market retailers. The company helps retailers and manufacturers gain greater visibility and control over the supply chain by streamlining product merchandising, inventory management and order management.
