FedEx Recognized as Best All Cargo Airline
HONG KONG — FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, has earned the Best All Cargo Airline award at the 27th Asian Freight & Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA) announced in Beijing, China. The accolade reaffirms FedEx commitment to offering an outstanding experience for its customers.
“FedEx is proud to be consistently recognized as the best all cargo airline. It underscores our ability to provide customers with access to the global economy through our unparalleled network," said David L. Cunningham, Jr., president, FedEx Asia Pacific. “This recognition by customers as well as industry players further demonstrates our pursuit of operational and service excellence. We are especially proud of the more than 18,000 FedEx team members across the Asia Pacific region that are committed to making every customer experience outstanding.”
Organized by regional trade publication Cargonews Asia, the annual AFSCAs are one of the most prestigious awards for the transport and supply chain industry in Asia. The Awards honor leadership as well as consistency in service quality, innovation, customer relationship management and reliability. This is the fourth consecutive year that FedEx has received the Best All Cargo Airline Award.
Last year, FedEx enhanced its customer experience in Asia Pacific with the launch of a range of enhancements. In October 2012, FedEx introduced its FedEx Priority Alert® and FedEx Priority Alert Plus inbound and outbound services in 10 Asia Pacific markets, providing customers with reliable monitoring for their time and temperature sensitive shipments. FedEx further strengthened its network by launching three additional Boeing 777 Freighter (777F) routes in Asia Pacific in July and November. Connecting Shanghai and Guangzhou in China to the FedEx Hub in Cologne, Germany, and Taipei in Taiwan to the FedEx World Hub in Memphis, U.S., these enhancements improved connectivity and call-in cutoff times for FedEx customers in Asia Pacific.
There are more than 40 transport and supply chain categories in this year’s AFSCA, covering all aspects of the cargo industry. The selection of winners was made through a nomination and final voting process involving extensive Cargonews Asia readers who are key industry decision-makers across the region. Final results were verified by an independent auditor.
