FreightScan Receives MBE Certification

Carlsbad, California, January 26, 2010 – FreightScan, LLC, a leader in the development and deployment of innovative technology solutions for the freight and logistics industry, has been awarded national certification as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) by the Supplier Clearing House for the Utility Supplier Diversity Program of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The MBE Program is an outreach program designed to expand business opportunities for qualified minority-owned companies in order to foster diversity in the world of commerce with programs and policies intended to develop opportunities and eliminate barriers in the marketplace.

“Successfully completing the MBE certification is a significant achievement for FreightScan,” said André Johnson, CEO of FreightScan. “As a technology provider to the logistics industry, we are aware that many companies are committed to creating access for minority-owned businesses by awarding annual contracts to certified suppliers. With this official recognition, we can now create value in multiple ways for our customers – by delivering increased revenue and operational efficiencies with our automated dimensioning products and by helping them meet their supplier diversity goals.”

FreightScan's FS100 automated dimming technology has already received broad recognition as an innovative technology solution in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia, with several pilot programs and contracts from major transportation companies currently in place. “We feel this certification will further our ability to demonstrate the benefits of accurate, automated dimensioning of cargo to those organizations in the transportation industry dedicated to supplier diversity programs,” said Johnson.
