GAC continues Brazilian expansion with Santos office New office establishes strong presence at South America’s largest port
SAO PAULO: GAC, the world's leading provider of integrated solutions to the shipping, logistics and marine industry, continues to strengthen its South American network with the opening of a new office at the Brazilian port of Santos. It is the third office in Brazil, joining bases with Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
Santos is South America's busiest port, ranking 39th worldwide in terms of container traffic, and can accommodate up to 50 vessels simultaneously.
GAC's physical presence in the region's largest port enables the company to respond faster to customs' requirements and reduce freight clearance times, while fostering closer relations with the customs and port authorities.
The Santos team will continue to handle the customs clearance process and domestic delivery to inland job sites near the port, in addition to managing daily shipments from various overseas suppliers which require expedient clearance through Santos.
Established in 2006, GAC Brazil offers a one-stop shop for a comprehensive range of supply chain and logistics solutions. The Santos office will deliver a suite of services including ocean freight import and export, inland transportation, procurement, ship spares logistics, husbandry, ship agency and crew changes, as well as bunker fuels provision, dry cargo handling and customs clearance.
“The opening of GAC Santos clearly shows that we are well on track as strong players in this market,” says Rodrigo Demarco, GAC Brazil, Managing Director. “At all three Brazilian offices, we have teams of seasoned business veterans with a wealth of experience and expertise, combined with the reach and resources of more than 300 GAC offices around the world. That means our customers can rest assured that we can deliver their strategy locally and globally.”
