Gary Halbert, Former General Counsel for the National Transportation Safety Board, Joins Holland & Knight as Partner
Washington, D.C. – March 24, 2011 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that former National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) General Counsel, Gary Halbert, has joined the firm's Washington, D.C. office as a partner, adding significant experience and value to the firm's litigation section and transportation practice.

Gary is an accomplished and respected attorney whose depth and breadth of experience will help to strengthen our firm's litigation and transportation capabilities and to expand the services that we offer our clients.
Halbert most recently spent more than five years serving as General Counsel at the NTSB, where he provided legal support for accident investigations, procurement and leasing activity, fiscal law matters, information law issues and the agency's human resources function. Additionally, Halbert supervised the NTSB's administrative and civil litigation, legislative drafting, ethics program, and compliance with the Government in the Sunshine Act and Administrative Procedure Act.
Following tours of duty as a multi-engine jet aircraft instructor pilot, Halbert was an active-duty military attorney in the United States Air Force, where his experience included successfully handling numerous trials and administrative proceedings. He graduated from the Air Force Academy, and he received his law degree with honors from the University of Texas School of Law.
