GATX Corporation Announces Appointment of Vice President and Group Executive - Railcar Operations
GATX Corporation today announced that Nicholas J. Matthews has been appointed vice president and group executive – railcar operations. In this role, Mr. Matthews will be responsible for GATX’s North American railcar maintenance operations, engineering group, railcar service centers, field service activities, and contract shop operations.
Mr. Matthews joins GATX Corporation from FreightCar America, where he served as senior vice president of operations. Prior to FreightCar America, Mr. Matthews served in a number of increasingly responsible operational roles with Trinity Industries.

Mr. Matthews received his bachelor of science in industrial management from Grove City College.
