GT Nexus Shipper Council Recognizes CMA CGM for Superior Performance by a Supply Chain Partner
HAMBURG, GERMANY--(Marketwired - Jun 26, 2013) - The GT Nexus Shipper Council, a community of supply chain executives from large enterprises across all industry verticals, has recognized CMA CGM for outstanding performance over the past 12 months. CMA CGM, the world's third largest container shipping group, received the award for providing the best overall data quality to the network of companies that are operating their supply chains on the GT Nexus cloud supply chain platform. The award was announced during the annual GT Nexus Bridges user conference, held June 2-4, 2013.
The GT Nexus Shipper Council is a group of executives from large importers and exporters who collaborate to improve partner relations, technology performance and business processes. Companies on the Shipper Council, which have combined annual revenues of over EUR1 trillion and work with every major supply chain provider, share GT Nexus as their global supply chain technology platform.
"A core aspect of the Shipper Council charter is to work collectively as a group to improve the way we collaborate and transact with common partners," said Bill Coxwell, Director of Logistics at VF Corporation and current Shipper Council Chairperson. "The information we get from ocean carriers is critical because so much of our global imports and exports move by container. On behalf of the entire GT Nexus customer community, I congratulate CMA CGM on a job well done and praise them on their dedication to raising the bar on ocean carrier EDI compliance."
"We understand the importance of technology innovation to our customers," said Shailendra Moondra, Senior Manager, IT Applications, at CMA CGM (America) LLC. "A year ago, we made a commitment to the GT Nexus customer community and that hard work has paid off. We are truly honored to receive this recognition from the Shipper Council."
Shipper Council members all share GT Nexus as a common cloud technology platform to run their global supply chains, unlike traditional software company user groups. This allows the Shipper Council to measure and benchmark against the collective industry performance. Improvements by any single member benefit the entire community. The work of the group has moved the industry average data quality score to above 95% across the top 20 ocean carriers representing over 90% of global capacity.
"By recognizing the winning performers, we hope the rest of the industry will take notice and step up their efforts," said Siva Narayanan, Director of International Operations & Warehousing at Solvay. "We share the GT Nexus platform so the work of a few can benefit the masses. This is one of the benefits of using shared IT infrastructure. I congratulate CMA CGM on the work they have done to stand out in the eyes of our community."
