Hapag-Lloyd Recognized for Superior IT Performance by GT Nexus Shipper Council
Oakland CA USA, May 25, 2010 - GT Nexus today announced that its customer Shipper Council, a group representing over 50 of the world's biggest shippers, gave Hapag-Lloyd the 2009 partner data quality award. The award was presented to Hapag-Lloyd at Bridges 2010, the GT Nexus annual user conference.
Customers formed the Shipper Council because we all share the GT Nexus platform and we saw an opportunity to work as a collective group, driving improvements to the benefit of the entire community, said Dennis Melgert, strategic sourcing manager - marine and air at Celanese Corporation, and current Shipper Council chairperson. Data quality is critical to our members and Hapag-Lloyd has demonstrated commitment to helping us achieve our goals. On behalf of the entire GT Nexus customer community, I congratulate Hapag-Lloyd.
We are honored to receive this recognition, said David Junkroski, senior vice president, sales and customer service at Hapag-Lloyd Americas. We pride ourselves on our ability to fulfill the highest customer demands for providing complete and in-time visibility information. GT Nexus is part of our strategy to serve our customers in their supply chain information requirements. To be recognized by such an influential group of companies proves our hard work is paying off.
The GT Nexus Shipper Council was formed at the Bridges User Conference in 2006. All customers share a common platform, so a data quality improvement for any one member benefits the entire community. The Council has been successful in raising data accuracy levels to nearly 100% for key shipment visibility events, which drives decision-making across the supply chain.
Collectively, the Shipper Council members spend more than $8 billion on ocean and air freight each year. Logistics partners can focus on optimizing a single point of information exchange and that benefits every customer on the GT Nexus platform.
