Honda Recognizes Florida East Coast Railway for Superior Rail Operations in 2011
JACKSONVILLE, FL – September 1, 2011 – Florida East Coast Railway, L.L.C. (FEC) received the 2011 Performance Excellence Award for Rail Destination of the Year by American Honda Motor Company, Inc. (Honda). This prestigious award is given to one railroad annually to recognize superior performance in on-time delivery, damage free operations, accurate inventory controls, and field audit inspections.
FEC transports new Honda vehicles from Jacksonville, Florida, to its automotive facility located in Hialeah, Florida, where cars are grounded and delivered to local dealers throughout the South Florida area market. The vehicles arrive in Jacksonville, Florida via a Class I rail carrier.
FEC was selected from over a dozen other railroads throughout the country in recognition for their dedication to operational excellence. “This is a tremendous honor for FEC’s employees who work every day to ensure our customers’ expectations are exceeded.
