Calverton, Md., Mar. 8, 2012 – The Intermodal Association of North America announced today that on Mar. 15 (2:00 p.m. EDT) it will offer its third webinar of an ongoing roadability compliance series. The webinar was developed in conjunction with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, and is a component of IANA’s Stay Informed educational program.

The webinar, FMCSA Roadside Inspections and Violation Data Access, will educate motor carriers and intermodal equipment providers on how to access inspection data in FMCSA's information systems. Of importance to IEPs, on February 11, 2012, FMCSA provided IEPs expanded online access to their inspection data in the FMCSA Portal. The webinar will brief registrants on the latest updates to the violation attribution table and provide guidance on: how to access data in the FMCSA Portal; how to request a PIN; how to add account users; and, how to view the data and make informed decisions about the operating condition of their equipment.

This live instructional demonstration by FMCSA personnel will also answer violation data questions such as:
  • What are my regulatory responsibilities as an IEP?
  • What is the latest with regard to the FMCSA’s business rules for the roadside inspection?
  • How are violations attributed to motor carriers and IEPs?
CVSA Executive Director, Steve Keppler, will moderate a panel of FMCSA officials well-versed in the nuances of violation data, including:
  • Nikki McDavid – Transportation Specialist, Office of Enforcement and Compliance
  • Buck Baley – IT Specialist, Office of Information Technology
  • Jamie Vasser – IT Specialist, Office of Information Technology
