INTTRA and CargoSphere Announce Strategic Alliance Bringing Together the World’s Largest Ocean Shipping and Rate Networks

Parsippany, NJ, August 9, 2012 – INTTRA, the world’s largest, most active network for ocean shipping, and CargoSphere, a leading rate management and negotiation system, announced an alliance agreement today and the availability of CargoSphere’s integrated solution for rate management, schedule selection and shipment management through one easy-to-use, integrated process.

Leveraging INTTRA’s new release of the Ocean Schedules and Booking Application Programming Interface (API), CargoSphere is able to bring together an advanced rate engine and contract management capability with the INTTRA multi-carrier shipping platform. This solution enables shipping professionals to act directly and immediately on the key criteria that drive shipping selections and then seamlessly initiate their shipments.

“For over a decade, we have been uniquely focused on innovations for rate management and the creation of a more elegant, real-time solution for both the management and distribution of transportation rates and quotes,” said Neil Barni, President of CargoSphere. “In addition to enabling faster decisions, streamlining workflows and reducing errors, this critical connection between rates and bookings will create enormous opportunities for all parties during subsequent invoicing and rate dispute resolution.”

“Our alliance with CargoSphere brings a simplicity and flexibility that was previously unavailable in the ocean freight industry,” said Sandeep Govil, Senior Director, Strategy & Alliances at INTTRA. “We know from speaking with shippers that they want comprehensive solutions that enable them to research options easily and gain efficiencies by working within one system.”
