ITI Board of Directors Elects Two New Members and Mark A. Yeager Named ITI Board Vice Chairman
DENVER, CO, October 26, 2011 – During its fall business meeting, the Board of Directors of the Intermodal Transportation Institute (ITI) at the University of Denver announced the election of two new members. Elected to three-year terms were James W. Benz and Gary R. Long.
Mr. Benz is Chief Operating Officer of Genesee & Wyoming, Inc. (GWI), a position he has held since 2005. Previously, he was President of GWI’s Rail Link Region for eight years, an operation he founded in 1987. Following its acquisition by GWI in 1996, he built this business into one of the company’s largest operating units. His more than 35 years of railroad industry experience also includes positions with the Seaboard Coast Line and CSX Transportation. Mr. Benz has a BS degree in business administration from the University of Tennessee, and he completed Harvard University’s Advanced Management Program.
Mr. Long is President and Chief Executive Officer of OmniTRAX, Inc., where he has overall responsibility for OmniTRAX and the companies under its management. He joined OmniTRAX with extensive experience and expertise within the marine, port, rail, and truck supply chains. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President – Commercial and Supply Chain Management for Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics and as President and Chief Operating Officer for its Distribution Auto Services subsidiary. Additionally, he held executive positions with AMLI Holding, Inc., Allied Holdings/Alexis Group, and Norfolk Southern Corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech University.

In addition, Mark A. Yeager has accepted the executive leadership position of Vice Chairman of the ITI Board of Directors, appointed by ITI Board Chairman Stephen G. Branscum (Group Vice President, Consumer Products Business Unit, BNSF Railway Company). Mr. Yeager (Vice Chairman, President, and Chief Operating Officer of Hub Group, Inc.) will continue to serve as the Chairman of the ITI Board Communications Committee. He is a strong supporter of the ITI Executive Masters Program through sponsoring Hub Group employees to the program and supporting the Phillip C. Yeager Scholarship Fund.
