JOC Exchange Announces Completion of First Transactions on Private Label Exchange e-Marketplaces for the Maritime Industry and a New Addition to the Executive Team
(DENVER – March 3, 2011) JOC Exchange (www.jocexchange.com) announces today that members of both the carrier and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) communities have completed automated container slot sale transactions using their customized Private Label Exchanges created using JOC Exchange’s intelligent online technology. The company’s second product offering, the Carrier to Market Exchange, is expected to launch this month.
The Carrier to Market Exchange is a participant neutral e-marketplace allowing multiple ocean carriers to post available spot container slots and pricing for sale to an invited community of purchasing NVOCCs.
Mark Storen, CEO of JOC Exchange, said:
“We are excited by the early adoption of JOC Exchange technology and believe the substantial interest in our upcoming Carrier to Market Exchange is tied to the growing importance of the spot market in the ocean transportation sector.”
JOC Exchange also announces today that Paul A. Windfield has joined the company as a Senior Advisor who will focus on sales and business development in the Asia Pacific region. Windfield brings over 30 years of executive management in the maritime and logistics services industries. His experience includes significant business creation having served as a founding member of the board of directors of INTTRA, the senior representative in the Asia Pac Region for Management Dynamics, Inc. (MDI), a board member for Summit Global Logistics, and the Director responsible for global sales, marketing and electronic commerce for P&O Nedlloyd Container Line. Windfield lives in Sydney, Australia.
“Paul is a strong addition to our executive team with his extensive industry knowledge and outstanding reputation,” said Storen. “He will focus on the development of our business in the Asia marketplace where there is significant containerized freight growth, a heavy reliance on the spot market, and an increasing desire for smart technologies that automate slot procurement processes.”
Both the Carrier to Market Exchange and individual Private Label Exchanges support global trade lanes, are compliant with all relevant maritime authority regulations, and feature user-friendly interfaces that provide robust search and transaction management capabilities. All transactions are conducted electronically, hosted securely and accessible 24/7.
JOC Exchange is headquartered in Denver, Colo. and will be opening multiple offices in Europe and Asia in 2011.
