Korean Air to Start Flights to Yangon, Myanmar in September

Korean Air will launch nonstop service from Seoul Incheon to Yangon, the center for trade, industry, entertainment and tourism in Myanmar, starting Sept. 13, 2012.

Korean Air's new service to Yangon will depart from Seoul Incheon every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 18:05 and arrive inYangon at 21:40 the same day. The return flight will depart from Yangon at 23:20, arriving Seoul Incheon at 07:40 the next day.

Korean Air will be operating a B737-800 with a Boeing Sky interior, seating 138 passengers on the new route. Travelers can enjoy a variety of in-flight entertainment programs with a state-of-the-art AVOD (Audio & Video on Demand) system in all classes.

Yangon, formerly Rangoon, is the former capital of Myanmar (formerly Burma). It is by far the largest city in that country and attracts tourists for a variety of reasons, including the Shwedagon or Great Dagon Pagoda, a 325-foot gilded pagoda that dominates the city's skyline. It is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda in Myanmar.
