China, 30 May 2012 - As demand continues to grow for specialist logistics services across Asia, Logwin has continued to invest in the expansion of its office network and services across the Pan-Asian regions in the last years.

In order to showcase its products and services to customers in Asia at the transport logistic China, Logwin has expanded its presence at the bi-annual event with a bigger stand and senior managers on hand to discuss the company’s broad range of freight and logistics solutions.

“We are delighted to be attending the transport logistic China exhibition again. Since the last transport logistics China event two years ago we have been expanding our presence throughout Asia, especially in the west and in the south of China. We have also been investing in upgrading many of our logistics centres to improve the range and quality of our services” said Tomas Sonntag, Managing Director of the region Far East Asia at Logwin’s business segment Air + Ocean.

The company is currently engaged in expanding its network of offices across China and Asia, driven by growing demand for logistics services across the region. Demand for imported products is on the rise across Asia, with China at the forefront, as economic growth and prosperity fuel increased consumer ‘appetites’ for luxury products.

Demand for products manufactured in China have traditionally been destined for European and US markets. Now production is also focused on supplying Asian consumers and as a consequence intra Asian logistics networks are flourishing.

Logwin has had a presence in Asia for more than 40 years and has worked with global brand-named companies in industries such as automotive, high tech, consumer electronics, retail, fashion and lifestyle.

These high-value added products require specialist handling, storage and transportation, managed by experienced logistics professionals. Speed to market is essential, driven by short product ‘life cycles’. In Asia Logwin has the network, expertise and knowledge to expedite products through the supply chain from point of production to point of sale.

Given the demand for speed to market for high value products, airfreight is the preferred mode of transport particularly for consumer electronics, fashion and lifestyle products. In Asia this is particularly the case given by the fragmented infrastructure, large distances between population centres and the move by manufacturers to inland areas of China, where access to sea ports takes longer.

Logwin has decades of experience of delivering these service across Asia, and has pro-actively invested in developing airfreight products specifically designed for each industry vertical.
In China the company is currently celebrating it´s 20th anniversary. Logwin opened its own offices in Shanghai and Dalian in 1992 as its platform to develop its business in China. Now Logwin in China currently employs more than 450 staff members throughout its 25 offices. The network includes 13 CFS and consolidation hubs with close to 30,000 sq m, as well as six specialized warehouses with a combined area of 15,000 sq. m.

With a long established international freight forwarding division, Logwin supports a growing network of logistics and distribution facilities in Europe and across Asia.

In 2011 Logwin launched its red carpet logistics product, which delivers a comprehensive range of specialist logistics services for its customers in the fashion industry.

Delegates can find out more about Logwin’s network and services in Asia at at Logwin’s booth 316 in hall N2.

Logwin established its operations in the region in 1972 and now has more than 50 offices in Asia including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, India, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia with representative offices in New Zealand, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Japan, Laos and Myanmar.
