Maersk Line named as ‘2010 Ocean Carrier of the Year’ by The Home Depot

Charlotte, North Carolina (November 4, 2010) – On September 22, Maersk Line was awarded the “Ocean Carrier of the Year” by The Home Depot®. The award was presented at the Executive Carrier Council meeting held in Atlanta, GA. Alan MacPherson, senior sales director, and Lauris Eglitis, key client manager for Maersk Line North America, accepted the award on behalf of the company.

Scott Spata, senior director, International Logistics for The Home Depot was quoted at the awards ceremony stating: “Maersk led the way with one of our highest on time performance ratings, with the highest booking acceptance of all others, and their flexibility led to one of the highest percentage lifts for our account. This carrier is the first, and usually the last carrier we pick up the phone to call when we have problems or need solutions.”

It is an honor to have received this award from The Home Depot, especially during a period which has been challenging for the shipping industry. We work on the customer experience every day at Maersk Line. Customer satisfaction and reliability are of paramount importance for our success,” said Lauris Eglitis, Key Client Manager with Maersk Line North America.
