MD Hu Jianhua Attends 7th Southern Asia Ports, Logistics and Shipping 2012 Exhibition and Conference

On 26 April 2012, Assistant President of China Merchants Group, CMHI Managing Director & CICT Chairman Hu Jianhua, attended the 7th Southern Asia ports, logistics and shipping Exhibition and Conference held in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

At the meeting, Dr Hu had a friendly conversation with industry participants, and made a presentation entitled New terminal construction in Sri Lanka-Chinese Perspective. He briefed the participants on CMHI’s investment philosophy in Sri Lanka, and the fourth-generation port concept. He said that CMHI is China's largest public port operator, and port of Sri Lanka has a good advantage of the regional development strategy. As an important result of cooperation between the two sides, CICT will open a new chapter for logistics and shipping industry in Southern Asia.

The event was attended by more than 500 senior executives from the world’s leading ports, shippers, cargo owners, shipping lines, freight forwarders, logistics companies, terminal operators, railway operators and port-rail equipment services suppliers from 30 countries. Among them were CMHI’s Overseas Operations Officer & CICT CEO Nelson Liu, CICT Chief Director of Engineering She Zhenwu, CICT CFO Victor Sun, Senior Manager of CMHI’s Commercial & Strategic Planning Department Catherine Chow, etc.
