Metalcraft announces On-Demand Laser marking system, Foil Bar Code Roll Label for OEM label production, automation
MASON CITY, IOWA (Sept. 19, 2011) – Metalcraft today announced its On-Demand Laser System and Foil Bar Code Roll Labels designed for manufacturers and others needing on-site production or application of durable identification for asset tracking, work-in-process and OEM product information. Metalcraft will be showcasing both products in booth #1364 at the Assembly and Automation Technology Expo in Chicago Sept. 20.
Metalcraft’s Foil Bar Code Roll Labels aim to speed automated application for customers who require a flexible label that will conform to most surfaces, yet withstand harsh conditions including chemicals, abrasion, solvents and high temperatures.
“Metalcraft’s rolled bar code labels make it possible to combine our durable product with precision, high-speed, automated label application for hands-free efficiency,” said Metalcraft president Steve Doerfler. “Metalcraft remains committed to providing durable, high-value identification solutions.”
Nautilus Systems, a manufacturer of automated assembly systems, will demonstrate the relationship between their PL Series Applicators and Metalcraft’s new labels in Expo booth #1365.
The standard Foil Bar Code Roll Labels are made from matte anodized aluminum with alpha-numeric, DataMatrix or QR codes produced using a photo imaging process for maximum clarity and sealed within the anodic layer of the aluminum. A .0035” thick pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive bonds to plastic, powder-coated or bare metal surfaces.
Metalcraft’s On-Demand Laser System allows manufacturers to create bar code nameplates whenever and wherever they’re needed. The transportable, turn-key system includes a benchtop fiber laser with CDRH Class 1 custom enclosure, software, verifier and standard black anodized or photo anodized aluminum blanks, plus design assistance, installation, training and technical support.
“With over 16 years of experience with laser systems in industrial environments and over 6 years in putting together on-demand systems, Metalcraft is ready to share our knowledge and expertise to putting together laser systems that meet specific needs,” said Doerfler. “Metalcraft knows how to support lean manufacturing, cost reduction, and enhanced productivity for manufacturers.”
