TOKYO — Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL; President: Koichi Muto) today announced that the MOL Group has offered to provide ocean shipping containers to an aid agency in Thailand to create an impervious wall that can help prevent flood damage from spreading.

The MOL Group is also contributing THB 2 million (5 million) in cash to aid flood victims and support reconstruction, and is considering other support activities such as transport of aid supplies as needed.

“The MOL Group has had a deep relationship with Thailand since our vessels began calling at Bangkok in 1903,” Muto said. “We hope for the swift recovery of the flood-stricken areas.”
