NASSTRAC to host Regional Meeting at Nashville’s Lifeway Christian Resources
Washington, DC — NASSTRAC, an industry association that provides education, advocacy, and provider relations to transportation and supply chain professionals involved in all modes of transportation, announced it will host a regional meeting in Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday, Nov. 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the corporate headquarters of Lifeway Christian Resources.
The meeting features a local shipper panel including Mike Harry, chief supply chain officer at LifeWay Christian Resources and Robert Oda, traffic manager at United Methodist Publishing House sharing their experiences and commenting on local industry issues. Brian Everett, ABC, executive director of NASSTRAC, will moderate the discussion and facilitate dialogue among shippers on important local issues and national advocacy issues. Those attending will have time to network with other shippers, third-party logistics companies, and carriers.
This meeting comes on the heels of the Washington D.C. NASSTRAC advocacy committee “fly-in,” where association leaders and shippers met with members of Congress and their aides to oppose unwise or excessively burdensome regulation in transportation. Recent advocacy issues such as potential changes to truck driver hours of service, truck size and weight limitations, and a lack of long-range planning and investment in U.S. roadways and bridges have a potential to increase transportation costs by as much as 10 percent each year.
