NOL’s Wu Choy Peng Named Asia Pacific CIO of the Year
NOL Group, the Singapore-based container shipping and logistics company, today announced that CIO Wu Choy Peng has been named Asia Pacific CIO of the year.
The award recognizes Ms Wu’s leadership and role as an advocate of information technology. It was presented by IDC, a global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the information technology and telecommunications markets.
“It’s an honour to be recognised by IDC for IT innovation and excellence,” said Ms Wu. “A solid IT foundation is vital to delivering new capabilities within an organisation to drive growth and industry leadership in customer experience and service excellence.”
Ms Wu joined the NOL Group in July 2006 as CIO. She oversees strategy development, design and implementation of a broad range of information systems and processes and ensures streamlined, day-to-day business processes for customers worldwide.
NOL was named a winner in IDC’s 2011 Enterprise Innovation Country Awards for its implementation of new technology that optimises a customer’s international supply chain needs. It was also named a winner in 2010.
Finalists for the top CIO category were selected from the winning project entries for IDC’s country awards. They were judged on their IT leadership qualities and contribution to their business.
The innovation award recognises Asia's top organisations in IT innovation, application and business excellence.
