Old Dominion Welcomes New Management Team Members

THOMASVILLE, North Carolina (Aug. 31, 2011) – Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. today announced the appointment of Ross Parr to the role of vice president, deputy general counsel and assistant secretary. Additionally, the company named Jim Raynor as vice president of equipment and maintenance.

Parr joins the Old Dominion legal team with 13 years of experience at several noted East Coast law firms. Parr’s experience includes an emphasis on corporate and securities law related to publicly traded companies. Parr will succeed Old Dominion’s current general counsel, Joel McCarty, when he retires in May 2012.

Raynor joins Old Dominion with more than 25 years of experience in fleet maintenance and management for various less-than-truckload (LTL) companies. Raynor will succeed Old Dominion’s vice president of equipment and maintenance, Ed Richardson, when he retires in December.

Prior to joining Old Dominion, Parr spent eight years as a member of a corporate and securities legal group, where his responsibilities included counseling public companies, including Old Dominion. Raynor spent 15 years managing a fleet of 1,800 tractors and 10,000 trailers at another LTL carrier.

“We are pleased to welcome Ross and Jim to the Old Dominion family,” said David Congdon, president and CEO of Old Dominion. “Both of these individuals boast extensive experience in the LTL industry. Ross previously counseled Old Dominion during his time at Womble Carlyle & Rice for eight years, while Jim has proven his aptitude with fleet maintenance in the LTL industry.”
