PAC International Logistics Selects CargoSmart’s Private Label Solutions
SAN JOSE, Calif. — August 24, 2010 — CargoSmart Limited, a leading Software as a Service (SaaS) global shipping and logistics solutions provider, today announced that PAC International Logistics, a U.S.-based logistics service provider, has selected CargoSmart’s private label solutions. CargoSmart’s solutions will allow PAC International to offer shipment visibility from origin to destination points for customers, provide better customer service with 24x7 online access to shipment status information, and increase efficiency through automation.
“Our customers are keeping inventories at a minimum, requiring tighter delivery windows, and expect higher customer service standards from their logistics service providers,” said Mike Goto, business development manager of PAC International. “With so much importance and pressure being placed on supply chains, CargoSmart’s solutions will allow us to help our customers gain better visibility to their in-transit shipments. Additionally, they will enable us to provide better customer service with tools to more closely and easily monitor shipments, spot exceptions as they occur, and ultimately help ensure our customers’ shipments are delivered on time.”
PAC International will use a branded version of CargoSmart’s visibility, shipment execution, collaboration, and trade compliance solutions for logistics service providers. The features that PAC International will implement include:
- Cargo tracking by house B/L, master B/L, and purchase order numbers of FCL and LCL shipments
- E-mail alerts about shipment changes and shipment status reports for customers
- Interactive and customized sailing schedules of 14 ocean carriers’ schedules
- Secure, online document sharing with customers and overseas agents
- XML integration to automate and share shipment data between overseas agents and PAC International
- Importer Security Filing (ISF) and Export Electronic Information (EEI) filing to U.S. Customs and Border Protection
In addition to providing increased shipment visibility and value-added services for customers, PAC International seeks to gain efficiency through automation. “Using CargoSmart’s solutions to connect our system to our vast network of overseas agents for house B/L information and to monitor cargo will greatly improve our data accuracy and reduce the amount of data entry we do in-house,” added Mr. Goto.
CargoSmart offers logistics service providers, including non-vessel operating common carriers, a full suite of private label shipment management solutions, a customer service center, and advanced visibility and workflow tools to grow their business. The private label solutions allow companies to extend CargoSmart’s advanced shipment management functionality to their customers. “We are pleased that logistics service providers such as PAC International can leverage CargoSmart’s extensive shipment management applications to deliver more value to their customers and gain efficiencies,” said Joe O’Brien, managing director of CargoSmart North America.
