PANOPA Group growing in Hungary
Duisburg/Győr, 26 August 2013 – A well-known German automaker has contracted PANOPA Logistik Magyar Kft. in Győr, Hungary to perform extensive transport and logistics tasks. The services that the Hungarian company belonging to the PANOPA Group will carry out for the OEM include operation of a warehouse measuring over 60,000 square metres, order picking work, handling empties and shuttle shipments.
“From the warehouse we ensure precise delivery of the components to the assembly lines at the automobile plant seven kilometres away by means of our own trucks,” explains Rémy Hoeffler, Managing Director of PANOPA Logistik Magyar. Vehicle production was launched in June. The company will reach full-scale operation presumably in February 2014. “By then we will increase the number of employees to more than 100,” says the managing director. In full-scale operation he expects a volume of several thousand large and small load carriers that have to be handled every day at the logistics centre.
Aside from this order, PANOPA Logistik Magyar also manages empties for the same automaker at the latter’s engine plant, which has been in operation in Győr for nearly 20 years and is considered to be the biggest of its kind in the world. “As of September, we will have more than 150 employees there and move several thousand large load carriers every day as well as a number of small load carriers in the five-digit range,” adds Rémy Hoeffler: “At the Györ location we will handle complete empties management for the OEM.”
Through these two new orders the PANOPA Group further expands its activities in Eastern Europe. “For us Hungary and Poland remain major growth markets in which we want to continue to push forward step by step,” emphasises the managing director.
