PC Maritime has formed a partnership with specialist training company ECDIS Ltd in order to provide its customers with approved generic ECDIS training at a location of their choice.

Marketing director Anne Edmonds said: “For many of our customers, getting their navigating officers to colleges for the generic ECDIS training is a major logistical problem, as well as a significant expense. ECDIS Ltd, on the other hand, takes the training to the customer. We think this is a convenient and less expensive solution which will help our customers achieve the required training for their officers in time for the introduction of mandatory ECDIS.”

Malcolm Instone, operations director of ECDIS Ltd, added: “We are delighted to be able to offer our Flag State approved ECDIS training to PC Maritime customers. PC Maritime is a well-respected ECDIS manufacturer with a clear focus on providing its customers with good service. Our equipment is fully portable so we can conduct training in a location that suits the customer, even onboard if the facilities can support it.”

ECDIS Ltd was formed in 2007 to provide training, consultation and all accreditation solutions in the electronic charting era. The company employs a team of highly qualified and experienced navigators, master mariners or equivalent, who have between them taught and accredited over 1000 mariners.
