Project Cargo Network (PCN) www.projectcargonetwork.com is delighted to announce that within just 18 months, their international reach has grown to 70 countries with the addition of Curtis and Lees Ltd, who are located in Dublin, Ireland (read more). The fast-growing organisation now comprises of 126 heavy lift specialists and continues to extend in size and reputation within the specialist industry.

Chairwoman and Founder of PCN, Rachel Humphrey says “I believe that one of the secrets to our success is that we are not about getting as many members on board as possible so as to increase the owners’ income! We are about bringing together the top project cargo specialists who want to increase their business by either referring one another or doing business directly with one another. We hand-pick our members to ensure that we only recruit agents that will be active and become a strong partner within our global network. This selective policy enables us to maintain a high quality of membership, which in turn means increased business, contacts and contracts for our associates.”

PCN was established in August 2010 and its aim of enlisting trusted heavy lift and project cargo specialists in every global market is fast becoming realised. During the past 18 months, PCN members have been actively building relations and this was accelerated by their 2011 Annual Summit held in London where 80% of their membership attended. Members found the annual gathering to be the perfect place to raise awareness of their company's services and activities. In fact, shortly after the event a delegates stated Within one week of the meeting, we have been actively working on securing not only one, but the first three pieces of business directly as an outcome of our one-on-one sessions at the conference.

Considering that the power sector is witnessing such huge growth in India and there are so many opportunities for project cargo specialists, PCN felt it would be a great country in which to host their 2nd Annual Summit, which takes place from 19-20 November 2012 in Mamallapuram (near Chennai).

PCN have also collaborated with over 50 leading exhibitions in the oil and gas, construction, power and energy sectors, bringing the network directly to the forefront of the industry. Rachel identifies the key to the success of both PCN and her general cargo network (Universal Freight Organisation) to the fact they they are both professionally run ISO 9001:2008 certified organisations. “We do not have any freight forwarders in ownership, thus providing unbiased and impartial administration of the direction and objectives of each network ... and this promotes confidence and trust with our members”.
