Penske Logistics Secures Brazil ANVISA License
São Paulo, Brazil, April 26, 2010 – Penske Logistics today announced it has secured a license from the Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária (National Health Surveillance Agency Brazil). This ANVISA license enables Penske to store and transport items such as pharmaceuticals, health care, cosmetics, cleaning, personal care, food and related products.
The license was granted after Penske <http://www.penskelogistics.com/> made significant investments to improve the infrastructure of its major distribution center in Cajamar, Brazil.
“This move is being made to further diversify our client portfolio and broaden our service offerings here in Brazil,” said Bill Scroggie, Managing Director, Penske Logistics – South America. “The growth of the Brazilian economy has driven the demand for consumer goods such as beauty and personal hygiene products. This in turn has increased demand for related logistics and warehousing services for these types of products and others across the country.”
Penske’s Cajamar distribution center now features special thermostat-monitored warehouses and a continuous improvement program. The quality of the goods will be inspected constantly by an on-site pharmacist technician, who will also train workers in the safe and proper storage, handling and transportation of these products.
