Pioneer Freight Services, Inc. Announces Expansion of Southern Utah Facilities to Accommodate Growth

SAINT GEORGE, Utah — Pioneer Freight Services, Inc., a regional third-party logistics provider, announced today that it is expanding its local presence by moving into a new 55,000 square foot warehousing / fulfillment center. The expansion is part of Pioneer Freight Services strategic plan to grow both organically and through new business.

From the Saint George facility Pioneer will manage the integrated logistics needs of a major nutritional supplement manufacturer, utilizing a sizable area of the facility. The remaining space will be available to accommodate business fluctuations and the needs of other customers.

“The flexibility of a multi-customer environment was a key reason this manufacturer selected Pioneer as its third party logistics provider. It provides the flexibility to accommodate current needs while allowing room for growth,” said John Rowan, president of Pioneer Freight Services. “Our proven start-up processes, cloud-based inventory management technology, and our fleet of company-owned trucks also contributed to their decision to select Pioneer to manage their largest distribution center.”

“The new space will position us to handle increased volume as our customers businesses change. Its convenient location will help to reduce freight costs and offer faster transit time between Salt Lake City and distribution points in Southern California,” said Scott Goodman, Pioneer Freight’s Chief Financial Officer.

“This represents an exciting opportunity for Pioneer in terms of a new level of service not available before in this area,” said Dick Davis, VP of operations. “We look forward to delivering integrated logistics solutions for our existing customers while positioning ourselves for immediate growth in this location.”

The new facility, located at 439 N 3050 E in St. George is just two blocks east of Costco near the Washington exit off I-15. Pioneer will maintain its current location at 825 N Industrial Road allowing them to continue to offer food grade, climate controlled warehousing in St. George.

“With more than 800,000 square feet of operating warehouse space in Pico Rivera and Corona, California, and plans for a fourth location in Salt Lake City by the end of the year, the Saint George based company has enjoyed steady growth since its beginning in 2008.
