Port of Tampa to recognize May as Florida World Trade Month
TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Port Authority and the Propeller Club of the United States, Port of Tampa, are pleased to recognize the month of May as Florida World Trade Month. International trade is the lifeblood of the Port of Tampa, which is engaged with more than 100 countries worldwide in cargo shipping.
Florida World Trade Month is being recognized statewide by the Governor’s Office, the Florida Chamber of Commerce, World Trade Center Miami and Enterprise Florida in this first annual effort to celebrate Florida’s strong ties to international trade and commerce. Formation of such a month-long recognition is meant to spur interest and awareness about the importance of international trade as a major contributor to job creation and corporate growth. The Honorary Chair for Florida’s World Trade Month is Gray Swoope, Florida Secretary of Commerce.
