San Pedro, CA, June 3, 2013 — PortTech Los Angeles is hosting the next PortTechForum on June 11, 2013 from 10 am to 12 pm at LA Harbor College. The Forum features innovative clean technology solutions that tackle extremely environmentally challenging tasks such as soil remediation and landfill vapors.

“Philip Gilchrist, a Senior Project Manager with Antea Group, will discuss a patented remediation technology that effectively cleans up chemically impacted sites making them reusable again,” said John Dmohowski, PortTechLA’s Director of Client Services. “Subra Iyer, President and CEO of Nrgtek, is a big-thinker, engineer and inventor who will share some of his thoughts and ideas on several topics, including his most recent invention that keeps landfill power generators clean and running smoothly.”

Nrgtek is a research and development firm dedicated to developing innovative technologies in the energy, water and environmental sectors. The company’s projects include forward-osmosis desalination systems that significantly reduce energy consumption and a fuel cell technology. Nrgtek recently signed a contract with the Ventura Regional Sanitation District to install a siloxane sequestration system capable of reducing the amount of siloxanes from 40 ppm to less than one ppm.

Antea Group is an international engineering and environmental consulting firm specializing in full-service solutions in the fields of environment, infrastructure, urban planning and water. The company’s Enhanced Concentrating Oxygen Soil Vapor Extraction (ECO-SVE) system effectively and safely treats polluted and compromised soil and groundwater through a recirculating process that doesn’t produce any atmospheric emissions. ECO-SVE is a tested and proven technology used to successfully clean retail gas station sites in Southern California.

In addition, information will be provided about the upcoming 4th annual PortTechEXPO, an event where technology companies have the chance to connect with business prospects at Southern California's ports and explore opportunities with ports worldwide working to achieve a more sustainable future.
