CHICAGO, Ill.—March 16, 2010 (James Street Media Services)—The Traffic Club of Chicago, one of the nation’s oldest and finest transportation associations, has announced that U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood will be the keynote speaker at its 103rd Annual Dinner, on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at the Chicago Marriott Hotel.

“Secretary LaHood’s appearance at our Annual Dinner provides Chicago-area executives an ideal opportunity to exchange ideas with our nation’s top government transportation official and his staff,” says Traffic Club President Bruce A. Betts. “Again this year the dinner will be the premier place to meet, learn and take action on matters of national transportation policy.”

More than 1,000 transportation executives attend, with many planning high level meetings around the Annual Dinner, including participation at the Annual Dinner Golf Outing in support of the organization’s scholarship fund on Wednesday, May 19, at the Cog Hill Golf Club.

The Traffic Club of Chicago, since its founding in 1907, has been the place for shippers, carriers, government officials and others involved in transportation to work together toward common goals.
